How Freedom of Speech and Religious Tolerance Empowers Women

religious quotes

Listen in on Anna Letitia Cook, host of WomenUP radio, and our founder, Whitney Buchanan, as they discuss how freedom of speech, religious tolerance, and human rights support women’s empowerment throughout the West and the MENA region.

On the podcast, which is produced in support of the UN Women’s “Empower Women” movement, Anna and Whitney discuss the following issues:

Human rights and religious tolerance: Including a focus on regions that generally stand out as being progressive, as well as movements in both areas of the world.

Progress linked to freedom of speech and women’s empowerment: The last 10-15 years and how progress can be measured (or sometimes deemed unexpected). Whitney also focuses heavily on intersectional feminism and asks white women to hand the mic over to women of color.

Some differences between the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region and the West: Anna and Whitney talk about what we can learn from each other, as well as regional values, opportunities and support for women.

Sustainable goals for women’s careers and professional progress: How women can bring more of these goals, different values, and beliefs into their local environment and everyday life. Whitney and Anna also touch base on how this can be implemented in the workplace.

Listen to our founder’s advice and tips on tolerance, freedom of religion and inter-cultural issues, as well as how to women’s empowerment, progress and development in the West and the MENA!
